DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL HURT?
This is a common concern that many clients have before they begin their laser hair removal journey. More traditional laser hair removal methods might have been a tad uncomfortable, but the Motus AY offers our clients a virtually pain-free solution.

HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?
Using the Moveo handpiece attached to our Motus AY, we deliver concentrated bursts of laser energy to the hair follicles in the treatment area. The hair follicles which are in their active growth stage absorb this energy as heat which travels down the pigment of the hair to the follicle which is the target. The heat damages the follicle and decreases the follicles ability to grow back. After multiple treatments, some follicles can be rendered dormant.
WHAT DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL FEEL LIKE?
Traditionally laser hair removal feels like the snap of an elastic band against the skin, sounds a little unpleasant doesn’t it?
The Motus AY uses a sapphire cooling tip to soothe the surface of the skin during treatment to help protect against any uncomfortable sensations, burns, and pigmentation changes. The system uses different wavelengths to gradually heat up the skin to a temperature that damages the hair follicles to reduce and eliminate hair regrowth without harming the surrounding tissue.

Traditional methods of laser hair removal deliver laser energy in one quick zap. The Moveo handpiece repeatedly passes over small areas causing gradual heating of viable hair follicles. This distributes the energy evenly, more effectively and at peak efficiency, doubling the energy transfer in comparison with standard laser systems.
Moveo is the only technology in the world that allows 755nm Alexandrite laser to be safely applied to all skin types. Darker skins have traditionally been restricted to less effective wavelengths such as Diode or Nd:YAG however now can be treated with Alexandrite – the gold standard laser for hair removal.
The Motus also utilises Nd:YAG laser for vascular and pigmented lesions and skin rejuvenation.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DOES IT TAKE?
We recommend booking a minimum of 6 sessions to secure long-lasting hair reduction and effective results. Your body hair goes through a resting and growth cycle, the treatment is only effective on hairs that are in their growth stage, and not all the hairs in your treatment area will be growing at the same time.
